This is a reproduction of Eighteenth century jakwood double-bedstead.(canopy bed) The chaste fluted shafts, the spindle-design of the head board and the stretcher design of the foot-board. The shafts are in two sections, the lower part which rests on the ground is fluted and the legs sprout from a bulbous support. The upper part, which supports the tester or tent, is crowned with similar bulbous motif. The two sections are held together by a collar of brass. A original piece of this be can be seen at Colombo Museum Collection.
